Fulham and Hammersmith Scalextric Club in London England
This is our 2nd FDSC promotional video. The Fulham Digital Scalextric Club is a slot car club which uses fuel load strategy, qualifiers, etc.
The first commercial slot cars were made by Lionel (USA) and appeared in their catalogues from 1912, drawing power from a toy train rail sunk in a trough or wide slot between the rails. They were surprisingly similar to modern slot cars, but independent speed control was available only as an optional extra. Production was discontinued after 1915. Sporadically over the next forty years, several other electrically powered commercial products came and went. Although a patent was registered as far back as March 1936 for a slot car, until the late 1950s, nearly all powered toy vehicles were guided by raised rails, either at the wheels (railroad-style), or at the lane center, or edge.
Scalextric came from the Scalex brand of Minimodels Ltd, which was a clockwork powered race car system that first appeared in 1952. Their inventor, Mr B. Francis, showed Scalextric ("Scalex" plus "electric") cars at the annual Harrogate Toy Fair in 1957. In 1958, unable to meet demand for their popular range, the parent company was sold to Lines Bros Ltd, who operated as "Tri-ang". Their subsidiary Rovex, which specialised in plastic, then developed Scalextric, converting the metal cars to the easier and cheaper to mould plastic. The track, which was originally a rubber compound, became moulded plastic at a later date. Production continued at Mini-models in Havant until 1967, when it moved to Rovex's own site.
When Lines Bros collapsed, their subsidiary Rovex-Triang, which handled Scalextric and the Hornby railway brand, was sold off, eventually becoming Hornby Railways. Although Scalextric remained based in the UK, most of the products are made in China.
Results were hit in 2007 by the closure of the Scalextric Race World retail store in Tacoma, however Scalextric-USA created a store front in Auburn, Washington showcasing Scalextric slot cars, tracks and accessories.
What Pc Lap Counter can do with PB-Pro:
Reduce the cars top speed against the fuel tank level
Send drivers hand controller settings , including throttle curve.
Specify the drivers cars top speed, for example for kids you can set the top speed to 75%
Control the track power when starting, pausing, resuming or stopping a race.
If you setup Pc Lap Counter to detect false start then track power will be ON during the start procedure (without false start, track power will be cut until the end of the countdown).
For a pacer driver , PCLC can control the car speed and lane change method (need PB-Pro 1.7).
Automaticaly enable/disable cars (need PB-Pro 1.7).
Manage PB-Pro track call
Can manage 2 PB-Pro ( usefull for 4 lanes tracks).
