An accident involving a tractor trailer full of hogs kept workers busy throughout Friday afternoon trying to clean up the mess.
It happened just after noon when Onslow County authorities say a tractor trailer full of hogs overturned on Highway 258 near Richlands. Investigators say the driver missed a right turn.
Animal control along with dozens of volunteers worked through the afternoon corralling loose pigs and sawing through the truck to free the trapped pigs. Several died in the accident, and several others were injured. The driver is O.K.
